Tamarins arrive Dec 4, 1998
Students who contributed to their planned arrival: Akili Estrella '99, Jebediah Sawyer, '99, Sara Steenrod, '99, Leah Janus, '99, and Erik Istre, '00. Jeb and Sara accompanied Julie Neiworth to U of Wisconsin Madison to receive additional training on tamarin care before the monkeys' arrival. Akili was present on Dec 25, 1998 for the birth of our twins, Sebastian and Viola. Their arrival brought the tamarin group up to 12 animals, and also allowed us to track child care behavior in the siblings and in our single mother monkey, Caitlin. |
