Ragtime Title

Rags are usually named "The <fill in the blank> Rag".

The blank is often a thing or a place.

Examples are The Entertainer, The Pineapple Rag, The Maple Leaf Rag, The Wall Street Rag, etc.

First and Second Endings

Add a single measure at the end of the piece.

Add a repeat sign at the end of measure 16.

Create the first and second endings.

Here's the MUSC101 Rag arranged for trumpet, banjo, and bass.

• The Trumpet gets the melody.
• The Acoustic Bass gets the left hand walking bass notes on beats one and three.
• The banjo gets the left hand chords on the offbeats of two and four.

The MUSC 101 Tango

This is the MUSC 101 Rag transposed to the key of C minor. The left hand rhythm is changed to a common Latin rhythm.

The MUSC 101 Tango Trio

Here's the MUSC101 Rag arranged for trumpet, banjo, and bass.

• The Clarinet gets the melody.
• The Acoustic Bass gets the left hand walking bass notes on beats one and two.
• The Jazz Guitar gets the left hand offbeat chords.
