Links to Sites for Teaching, Learning, and Admiring Molecular Symmetry*

  1. Symmetry Tutorial

  2. This is a fantastic site. It was developed by Dean H. Johnston at Otterbein College and was updated to use JSmol in 2014.
Dean continues to make updates and improvements. It has many examples with beautiful animations and visualizations
    of operations and symmetry elements.
  3. The Structure and Symmetry of Metal Tris Chelates

  4. This is a site that I (M.E.C, Carleton College) developed and then published in J. Chem. Educ. with my colleague Henry Rzepa of Imperial College, London
It is specific to metal-tris chelate molecules. The site has been updated to use JSmol (April 2014)
A few wonderful sites have gone by the wayside as software and browsers have been updated.
If you know of the return of 3D MolSym or any great sites, let me know
