WIND DIRECTION

SCIENCE OBJECTIVE:

INSTRUMENT DESCRIPTION:  This instrument uses platinum wires in a hot wire anemometer configuration.  Eight wires are place around the periphery of a

cylinder with a small current running thru them just enough to warm them.  As the wind blows past he wire it will cool and this can be detected either as a

voltage drop or current change.  Depending on which wires change and by how much the direction of the wind flow can be determined.
