FAQ on the final

  • Q: When is the final?
    A: Sunday, the 4th of June. The 1a final is 7-9:30.
    For 4a, it's 3:30-6:00.

  • Q: Can I take it with the other section?
    A: Yes, just so long as you so inform me by email by the last day of class.

  • Q: Where will it be held?
    A: In our regular classrooms, 319 for 1a, 210 for 4a.

  • Q: Is it self-schedulable?
    A: Nope. But please inform me by email at least a week in advance if the scheduled times causes you a hardship.

  • Q: When is the alterative time and place?
    A: That will be Saturday, June 3, 3:30-6:00 PM. You must inform me a week in advance by email. Come to my office before 3:30 and we'll find a place.

  • Q: Are calculators allowed?
    A: No.

  • Q: Is it open book?
    A: No.

  • Q: Will a crib sheet be allowed?
    A: Yes - one side of an 8-1/2 by 11 sheet. You will staple it to your exam, and place your name on the back so the exam can be returned by campus mail.

  • Q: Will it cover the entire course?
    A: Yes.

  • Q: Will we have a review?
    A: Yes, some on the last day of class and again at the regular classtimes on Friday Friday the 2nd, i.e. at 8:30 and 1:10.

  • Q: What's the difference?
    A: On Wednesday, we'll review what the coverage will be and issue some hints. Attendance will not be taken on Friday. No new hints will be given. We'll simply respond to problems and reviews suggested by the students only.

  • Q: How much will the final count?
    A: 36%, as per the syllabus.

  • Q: When will we get them back?
    A: Sometime during the first two weeks of fall term.
