Things that keep me busy outside Carleton:
-
Directing Carleton's Summer
Mathematics Program for Women -- an intensive four-week summer program
at Carleton College designed to encourage talented undergraduate women
to pursue advanced degrees in the mathematical sciences. This NSF-sponsored
program is beginning its tenth successful year.
-
Editing (1999-2003)Math
Horizons -- a magazine published four times a year by the Mathematical
Association of America intended primarily for undergraduates interested
in mathematics. Each issue contains high-quality exposition of beautiful
mathematics and lively articles about the culture of mathematics--mathematical
people, history, fiction, folklore, traditions, institutions, humor, puzzles,
games, student club activities, and career opportunities and advice.
